First Final Exam at CU

So it's 12:16AM as I'm writing this now. I have my first final exam at 10:30AM. It shouldn't be too bad as we are just doing some group work. Tuesday's exams will be killers because I have one at 7:30AM then one at 7:30PM. I've studied for both briefly but need to read over the notes I've written all tomorrow after my exam finishes at 1PM. I'm glad that the semester is nearly over for me. I will have 2 days to hang out with my friends before I get picked up on Friday by Julie to spend time with her and her family before leaving Saturday afternoon. I've had a really great time here and I can't wait to come back. Todor's friend, Marisol is also here so its going to be great once I finish my exams and we can all hang out before the grueling flight home. Well, until after exams, expect some fun party pics of celebration once I get my head all through this! Wish me luck (though I hope I won't need it)

14 days to make a difference

14 days is all I have left in the United States of America. It seems that everything went by amazingly quickly because I enjoyed myself too much. I was looking over some photos when I first arrived and I really would like to rewind the clock and revisit it again. It was amazing how I experienced the end of summer, how it was so hot and dry. And now, 8 days into winter, I've experienced the cold snowy weather. I've seen the green trees change color and then finally lose all their leaves. So now all I have left is 14 days. Even though I've done a lot I still feel that a lot of things are missing in this experience, not to mention the last 2 assessment tasks I have to complete, exams, packing my bags and organizing a lot of other stuff that needs to be taken care of before I leave. So enough about that...it snowed yesterday, just after the campus had dried up from the last fall...it was great. Here are some cool pictures.

American Football – CU vs. Missouri

Last Saturday I went to my first ever American Football game, CU vs. Missouri. Of course, I had no clue what was going on but I just focused on which direction CU was heading in. The game runs in short bursts and it seemed like an eternity between points. However, the crowd entertainment was just gold! The first few minutes saw CU doing fine, then it was all downhill from there. Oh well, it was a great experience...and this isn't to say without pictures!

Last weekend I headed over with the international students to attend Salvo's ice skating idea. I didn't look so much like a novice this time because I had skated a few times before it. I still am pretty unstable though. Garrett came along and apparently he couldn't skate, considering he owned a pair of ice skates. He also forgot to mention that one of his parents is a speed skater. Anyway, as usual photos from the event:

Chris’ 21st Birthday

On October 1, it was my roommate's birthday. Also on that day it was Liz's birthday also. I wish them both a good year. Chris didn't have much of a party on his birthday, he had an exam and was freaking heaps about it. I have no doubt that he will make up for it on Thursday, Friday, Saturday...and maybe Sunday also LOL. Anyway, Evania and Kiska came over for a Happy Birthday snap to celebrate the day!

Hallett Hall Party

Last week Chris and I were just "chillin'" in our room and he put on some music. A few minutes later there was a party in here!. It was a great way to get to know my floor mates a bit better. It was kind of the pre-game chillout session where we all just talked about crap and generally had a good time. I have some nice photos to share...

Ice Skating

I've only ever been ice skating once in my life before I went to the CU Ice Rink, that was in Albury. In Albury, they had a temporary marquee set up and it was quite small. I had bad experiences skating there with my brother and Matt. But on Saturday, Todor, Kathy and I went ice skating and I was quite nervous but all I can say is that it's definitely easier the second time you do it. It's cheap to skate there too, only $1 just to hire the skates. I'm sure that as time goes on I'll get better. As usual I've got some photos, but this time I have videos:

Pearl Street Parade

Last Friday, Sophie, Vicki, Jess, Katie and I went down to Pearl Street to visit the cheesecake factory. It so happened that there was this parade for the football game that night. It was really, really good. The CU marching band was there to help support our team and there was people on top of the car throwing out free mini footballs. This just goes to show that America is really into their football. Everyone was shouting all the chants, which knowingly I knew as well but I was a bit hesitant to participate. I was wearing my Wollongong Uni hoodie and some lady came and talked to me. She said that she loved Australia and that she also did her study abroad at UOW. It goes to show that the world is a small place after all. So as usual I managed to score some pictures of the event - though I stole these pictures from Vicki's camera.
