My experience as a shopper

So not that long ago I purchased a dual sim mobile phone. I bought one for convenience as I carry two phones around (one for work). The new phone worked fine for the first 4 days but then people who I was talking to on the other end could barely hear me. It sounded very weak and a buzzing noise in the background. Seeing as though it was only a few days old, I went back to the the shop and asked for a replacement. The customer rep looked at the phone and proceeded to fiddle with the settings and finally found the factory reset. Meanwhile he was also dealing with an irate customer who was attempting to return a smashed up toy. The rep then called my newly reset phone and then I dictated the catalog to him....he put on a confused look and said "Can you move over or speak up, I can't hear you?" It was at that point I knew nothing was going to work here! Obviously that's my PROBLEM, get me a new one.

It turns out I didn't get a new phone, even after talking to the manager. It's disappointing that I had to deal with the manufacturer directly (and still haven't received it yet). However, the irate customer with the physically damaged toy was fully refunded, it's quite obvious that being rude is the way to approach retailers. These are their valued customers...

Financial year update

I called the post what it is because I couldn't think of a better title. Coincidentally, I started my new job just before the end of the 08/09 financial year, which makes it easy for the tax returns (!). Updates, so... well I've been thinking a lot of IT stuff lately, probably because I need to be switched on to help me learn faster at work. Currently I'm rebuilding my raid 1 array...for some reason I decided I turn of my onboard raid in the bios. Windows still booted up (as expected) but then I had it recognising both my drives. At least I know the raid array works when one disk fails, it does what it's supposed to do... Anyway, enough IT speak.

I'm still addicted to the Intencity ticket games. Funnily enough, I won the jackpot on that ball dropper thing (that's twice this week). Lucy collects all our tickets and we must have over 1000 now. The problem is, what's worth trading our tickets for the measly prizes? Aside from that, I'm looking forward to Ben's birthday in Melbourne. We get to play a variety of games at galactic circus, just below Crown Casino. We are still children at heart. The eisteddfod is on very soon too. Must start practicing everyday from now. Oh and I saw TJ a few days ago. It was nice to catch up and hear his stories.
