Raining in Albury!
As you know, Australia is such a partched countryside, with little rain throughout the year in most places. Albury is one of those inland places with little rain each year. When rain does come though, the next day, everyone's grass turns green! I'd just thought I'd share this with you because it doesn't happen very often. Let's pray for more of it.

Back to the piano lessons
I've decided that I'm going to try my hardest to finish my A.musA diploma in piano soon. I had all my pieces set before I left for uni at the beginning of 2005 and had to leave them behind. Now that I'm back in town for a while, until I find a job and depending where it is, I'm going to resume it. Luckily the syllabus did not change much so I can just re-learn and polish up old pieces. My set includes:
Chopin - Nocturne Op. 15 No. 2 (F#)
Beethoven - Sonata Op. 10 No 2. (F)
Hyde - Study in Blue, White and Gold
Bach - Prelude and Fugue XX Book 2 (Am)
I hope that sometime soon I will get footage of these pieces, have them uploaded to youtube, then presented here on my blog! Pray for me
The big names at the Australian Open 2008
Now that I've finally had the time to upload all photos I took while at the Aussie Open, it's time to show you the big names that we saw and admired.

Jankovic, a stunner match after something like 12-10 in the 3rd set

Roddick, another unbelievable performance

Roddick's backhand return

Ferrero, and some random guy thinking it's a crime to take photos

Monaco, practising with Ferrero

Chela, he pretty much always looks cranky and stressed out

We all know who this one is

Sharapova, anxiously waiting her screaming return

Moya, disappointing that he fell to Koubek

Johansson, outclassed by Baghdatis

Baghdatis just chilling

Vaidisova out on the practice courts

Santoro, the crafty Frenchman

Venus Williams, also out on the practice courts
Back from the Australian Open
After two solid days of WATCHING tennis, I can finally say that I'm all tennis'ed out. It's not that I don't like it or anything, but you just sit there and watch...cool and all, but I badly wanted to go out and have a hit. Still, if we had a day break, I could go back and watch again. The food is also insanely expensive there! Watch out for some sick photos over the next few days over the opening two days of the tournament.
Leadup to Australian Open Tennis 2008
Tomorrow we will be watching some of the first round matches at the Australian Open 2008. I hope it will be good weather but not too hot. I think we will get to see Sharapova and Roddick playing at Vodafone Arena again on the opening day, but I'm not too concerned. I just want to see some awesome tennis and try to score some autographs. I also forgot to show you guys this photo of Andrew and Tom at the Margaret Court Cup a few days ago.

No longer bound by P-plate conditions
This morning I went for my full licence. It was a collection of 15 multiple choice questions and 10 real life scenarios. I got 100% in the test which was to my surprise. I think that there is a lot of benefit to being an unrestricted driver because the police won't be out to target you, not that I didn't do anything illegal anyway. However, it was good to get rid of that 100km/h speed limit that P2 drivers had. *Admires shiny new licence*
My effort to be fitter
Pia and I went to the Commercial Club gym today just to work out a bit after all the holiday food. I haven't been to the gym since I went with Robert and we'd go get Maccas afterwards...wasn't too healthy or worth it after all. I did a lot of cardio stuff in order to lose my excess weight and I had a relatively healthy lunch afterwards (meaning no fast food). Maybe I'll consider going tomorrow as well!
