Christmas in the Australian Summer

Posted in General on December 30th, 2007

I’ve only been here about a week and it seems like I’ve been here for ages. The heat here is unbelievable. I don’t know how I’m coping with it but I’m still alive, so who am I to complain? Christmas day was pretty sweet. I met up with Liz after church at St. Christopher’s, Manuka (Canberra).

We pretty much travelled back and forth between Canberra and Sydney and I didn’t actually get to “home” home several days after I actually landed in the country. I’ve pretty much met up with all of my family but haven’t got around to any of my friends yet. I should get around to that next year (New Years Eve is tomorrow night for me!)

Last but not least, I’m going to miss my adopted family while over in Colorado. Hope to see you sometime soon guys!

Posted in Websites on December 29th, 2007

The holiday season is a very busy time of year especially when everybody is still caught up in their Christmas presents and just the plain old holiday spirit. I think that one of the most important things, yet most forgotten things, is a new calendar for the new year. There are many varieties of calendars as you know already, but wouldn’t a custom made calendar be so much better to view all year round? VistaPrint specialise in custom Wall calendars which can make really good presents or just as something for the family to enjoy all year round. If you are in the market for a new calendar, consider VistaPrint for your personalised calendar.

Back in Australia

Taken from my facebook note:
What time is it? Summertime of course…sorry for the High School Musical pun. So I’m now down under as of two days ago. I had quite the experience actually getting onto my flight home in LA, otherwise I would have missed Christmas totally. I did end up getting back of course, minus my dearly beloved bags. My life was in those bags and I only received them this morning after numerous calls to United Airlines.

I haven’t even reached home home yet! My bags are floating around in the car while we travel back and forth between Sydney and Canberra. I’m assuming we are actually going home tomorrow at some point. I want to unpack and just rest for a while. Now, where did I put my glass of wine…

Over the summer, my blog will undergo some changes to reflect my current situation. Seems a bit silly to be referencing Boulder in my header image now, even though I love the place so much. Just before I head out, I just gotta tell you something funny. When I was driving back here, I started turning into the right hand side of the road! Lucky dad corrected me. I’ll be fine over the next week, just gotta adjust again. BTW: I’m missing all my Colorado friends!

D-Day!

I’m at Julie’s place right now, just about to grab some lunch before she takes me to Denver airport. My flight is at ~5pm but I’m going to get there early to check my stuff in and not worry about anything anymore. I upgraded my seats to economy plus! More legroom and the like. I figured I deserved it after checking my grades this morning. So far I know I have 2 A’s and a B+. Just waiting on that last subject result. So 2 hours to LA, then another ~2hr wait. 13.5 hours direct to Sydney. WOW. I’m so excited, apart from the fact that it’s summer. I love the snow!!! OK, better head off. Expect some photos over the holiday season guys. Have a merry christmas and a happy new year!
