Time is up
I had such a surreal feeling of regret today. I stuffed everything from my room into the car, just as usual as every semestreal break. Then suddenly, the feeling hit me. This was the last time I would be doing this at Kooloobong. I felt so sad to do it, but at least I had the incentive of tidying up the place for Vanessa’s family when they come back. They will be pleasantly surprised at how clean I kept the place! So today marked 2 days of being without my greatest friends ever at Kooloobong. Those 2 lonely nights were indeed very lonely, though I cooked for Zeynep and Jeff to rid some stuff out of the freezer. Yesterday I was expecting someone to pick up the amount of gear that Courtney managed to accumulate over the semester but the person didn’t show up. I proceeded to drop it to Lindsay and Louise’s place up in Cringila…kind of random but I’m sure Lindsay remembered my face.
All my roommates were right, they said once we actually get home and away from uni, we will soon learn to live without each other again. Since I handed in my keys it felt so weird because I’m always used to having that set of keys in my pocket and knowing that I can go into my room whenever I wanted. But today, I sort of let go and I’m not dwelling on everything as much as when I was alone in the unit a few days ago. Anyway, today Jeff came with me to Sydney and we randomly had lunch in Newtown because we we’re trying to track down Pia and Candice. Eventually we found them after visiting eb-games and Galaxy World (omg got an addiction to arcade games again) - they went on a random shopping spree.
Well I’m leaving tomorrow and it’s going to be good to be home. I have to work though…which is good because I will be saving some money for my exchange trip but it leaves a fair hole in the nights (because I work during the night) and sometimes prevents me from going out to do stuff with friends. It is just going to be one huge routine again, just like every holiday period was when I started uni. I really hope that Jeff, Zeynep, Matt and Julien find some time to come visit Albury and spend some time in my home town. It will get me off my backside and enjoy some more fun times before I head off to CU-Boulder!!!!!!!!!!
